Archery Club

Beginning Band and Orchestra

Fifth grade is the start of our instrumental programs. Fifth grade students interested in either band or orchestra will meet after school once a week. In addition, students will have a lesson every week during the school day. Recruitment for this program starts in early September with a parent meeting in mid-September. Lessons start at the end of September with the first after-school rehearsal coming at the end of October.

Destination Imagination

Destination Imagination (Grades 5-6, 7-8) is a team of students who face challenges that focus on creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and intellect. Some challenges include skits, role play, building, and fast thinking. DI meets one to two times each week after school, generally in the months of October through March. Competitions are on Saturdays in March (usually 1-3 competitions).

Fuel Up to Play 60

Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP 60) is a leading national in-school health and wellness program launched by the National Football League (NFL) and National Dairy Council (NDC), which was founded by America's dairy farmers, in collaboration with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Fuel Up to Play 60's primary focus is to help schools meet their wellness goals and encourage youth to consume nutrient-rich foods (low-fat and fat-free dairy, fruits, vegetables and whole grains and lean protein foods and achieve at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day. River View's FUTP60 team is a combination of 5-8 grade students dedicated to making our school a healthier place to learn. Our team is in charge of Smoothie Tuesdays, in class activity breaks, and National Dairy Days.

River View Leaders

Running/Walking Club

Available to all 5th-grade students, this club will begin in early spring and continue through the end of the school year. We will be running/walking three days a week (on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays). We will start our training with 1/2 mile exercises and will increase, throughout the season, to 6 miles. At the end of the program, students are invited to participate in the Bellin Run in Green bay, which is typically the second Saturday in June. Our club is sponsored by the Kids for Running program through Bellin Health and Schneider International. Students all receive a Kids for Running t-shirt and a discount on their entry for the Bellin Run. The goal of the club is to promote an active and healthy lifestyle while meeting new friends and having fun!

Ski Club

Join River View Middle School Ski Club and come enjoy the slopes with your friends after school! Whether you're an experienced skier/ snowboarder or have never hit the slopes, RVMS Ski Club is a great way to join your friends in getting outdoors for some winter fun! Each class will take two trips to Nordic Mountain on Mount Morris, Wisconsin.

New this year!

As a result of bus driver shortages, we are only able to have two buses for each trip. That means each grade will take only two trips. The 5th & 6th grade group will travel together for two trips. The 7th & 8th grade group will travel together for two trips. Registration will be capped at 104 students per group- first come, first serve.

Departure/ Return Times

Ski Club meets right after school at the main entrance on the above designated dates. The buses will depart no later than 3:30 PM to allow us the maximum amount of time at the ski hill. Buses normally return around 10 PM. We will post arrival updates via Facebook.

Sources of Strength

Students in grades 6-8 are nominated by staff members to participate in Sources of Strength. This group works with the entire student body to organize and put on activities to promote healthy choices while identifying a student’s individual sources of strength. Students nominated go through an extensive training program to learn how to be leaders amongst their peers.
